support us

We believe in the unique power of theatre to spark joy, to make our hearts race and to connect us with those around us.

The National Theatre of Scotland’s mission is to create as many opportunities as possible for people to be part of that experience, as audience members or as theatre makers.

As the country’s national company and the sector’s largest employer, we recognise our responsibility to support and promote the networks of world-class theatre artists, technicians, companies and venues who make up our sector.

We are a registered charity, core funded by the Scottish Government, but we rely on the generous support of our donors, sponsors and funders to maximise the work we do across the country.

Your Support Helps us to

Make big shows and wee shows to take all over Scotland, from the grandest theatre stages to the tiniest village halls.

Share stories which reflect the diversity of Scotland – its people, places and history.

Create world-class drama and education resources for every school in the country.

Nurture and support Scottish theatre artists to explore and develop their practice.

Remove barriers that block some people from taking part - poverty, ethnicity, geography, disability, gender, sexuality, age.

Invest in co-productions with Scotland’s many excellent theatre companies and artists.

Represent Scotland on the international stage.

Reach audiences near and far, on tour, on cinema screens, and across digital platforms.

These are exceptionally challenging times for Scottish theatre and we need your support more than ever.
