About Samm Anga
Samm Anga is a Scotland-based Sound Artist/ Designer and Composer. He studied his Masters in Sound Arts at the London College of Communication (UAL), graduating with a Distinction.
Crafting sounds for the stage, film house, and rave, his musical influences span contemporary classical, jazz, ambient, and dubstep, birthing a unique sonic identity.
With Nigerian roots, he straddles the ever-complex tussle between modern and ancient values, science and spirituality, futurism, and nostalgia. In this way, Anga embraces organic and digital processes , teasing out musical qualities inherent in found sounds. For him, improvisation births composition; he expands this idea into playing between mediums, audio and visual, “real” and synthesised, sewing conceptual ideas through highly technical work.
His credits include: Orin ati Ijo (BBC New Creatives), Scared to Death (Ten Feet Tall), Caledonian Dreams (independent), An Aberdeen Christmas Carol (Ten Feet Tall), The Heart’s Constant (BBC The Social), Four Years (BBC The Social), HERETIK (Cryptic), Waxen Figures (Cryptic), ELLA (UAL), Concrete (UAL), The Breakfast Club (Stage Left [fka SASS]), As You Like It (Stage Left [fka SASS]), Goodbye Spike (independent), BlindSide (WhiteFox Productions).
