About Roxana Haines
Roxana Haines (she/her) is a care-experienced stage director working in theatre and opera. She was the Staff Director at Scottish Opera from 2019 - 2023 where she directed many productions including an acclaimed outdoor production of La Boheme (5* The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Scotsman). She studied at Goldsmiths, University of London, and received an MA in Advanced Theatre Practice from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She has trained in devised theatre, puppetry and physical theatre. As a director and associate, she has worked throughout Europe and America. Roxana’s most rewarding projects have balanced therapeutic work, engagement and social change. She is currently undertaking an MSc in Dramatherapy at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh.
Upcoming projects include Director for Oedipus Rex (Stravinsky) with the Edinburgh International Festival and Associate Director for Ainadamar (Golijov) at The Metropolitan Opera and LA Opera. She is delighted to be working with The National Theatre of Scotland for this project.
