About Matt McBrier
Matt is an Edinburgh-based, queer, working-class and neurodivergent theatre director and dramaturg. He holds a Ba(Hons) in Performance from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and a Master of Fine Arts in Directing from Edinburgh Napier University - tutored under playwright May Sumbwanyambe and former artistic director of The Lyceum, Mark Thomson.
Matt is passionate about new writing, interdisciplinary collaborations and socially-motivated projects. His recent work includes: Trainee Dramaturg with Playwright's Studio Scotland; Assistant Director on Ode to Joy (How Gordon Got to go to the Nasty Pig Party) written and directed by James Ley; Director for rap-group The Honey Farm’s gig-play development, supported by an NTS Develop Bursary.
