About Finn den Hertog
Finn den Hertog is a director, theatre maker and actor. He trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, graduating in 2007. He earned a practical directing training through the Young Vic and National Theatre.
He is Co-Artistic Director of award-winning artist-led company Groupwork and has been an Associate Artist of National Theatre of Scotland since 2022.
Finn’s approach to theatre making is rooted in collaboration and the convergence of artistic forms and his productions range from site-specific work to re-imaginings of classic texts to documentary dance-theatre. Alongside a number of premiers of plays by some of the country’s most exciting playwrights, his previous work includes a collaboration between resident artists at Somerset House Studios; a series of “sonic theatre” podcasts recorded remotely during the pandemic and, most recently, Lighting The Dark a piece of folk-music storytelling with acclaimed musician and theatre maker Martin Green.
He is a regular guest director and lecturer on the BA Acting program at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and for the Masters in Playwriting at University of Edinburgh.

He lives in the Southside of Glasgow with his partner and their two young children.
