About Emma Bailey
Emma is an award-winning set and costume designer originally trained as an architect whose designs have appeared worldwide including at the Sydney Opera House, on Broadway and the West End, RSC, Young Vic and the Glastonbury Pyramid Stage. Emma is the set designer for Tony award-winning and highly decorated musical sensation SIX! THE MUSICAL which is currently playing to audiences globally. Other featured credits include ISLANDER (Theatre Royal Plymouth/Dundee Rep/US Tour), SUNSET SONG (Dundee Rep), EARTHWORKS (Young Vic), ANNA KARENINA (Bristol Old Vic/Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh), ONKEL WANJA (Theater Dortmund), A MOTHER’S SONG (Macrobert Art Center), BOURGEOIS & MAURICE: PLEASURE SEEKERS (Soho Theatre) and THE DAN DAW SHOW (Sadler’s Wells Theatre and Touring).
Emma has been a JMK finalist three times, was awarded the Maria Bjornson Fellowship Prize from the Royal Academy of Music in 2020, and was nominated for Outstanding Scenic Design in a Musical in the 2022 Drama Desk Awards. Emma has run workshops with the National Theatre, RSC, Tricycle and Young Vic and she is a part of Store, a London-based association of artists, architects and designers who promote an educational programme of art and architecture courses and a socially engaged design practice
