Truant

November 2011

Overview

How do you find your limits without breaking the rules? Teenagers need to play truant from their parents to establish their own identity, their own personal values. But what happens when parents play truant from their children, when they avoid their parental duties? Everyone has family, but who is making and who is breaking the rules?

Truant is a provocative new piece of theatre set in, and inspired by, the people of Glasgow. Truant is the result of interviews with a diverse range of people from communities across the city exploring responses to questions about family values, the challenges of modern parenting and the place of children in society.

Featuring a cast of eight and combining performance, movement, music and live debate, Truant is an unmissable event. You can follow the debates after each performance on our Facebook page.

As Truant contains strong language, an age guide of 14+ is suggested.
