Exchange is an international event which brings together youth theatres from Scotland and across the world.

Now in its fifth year, Exchange provides the opportunity for enthusiastic young theatre-makers (aged 16 to 25 years old) to create and perform new and exciting pieces of theatre with the help and support of a professional creative team.

Participating groups are encouraged and supported in exploring new ideas and taking risks with their theatre creations throughout the Exchange process. The theatre-makers are given the opportunity to develop their skills through an exciting programme of master classes and workshops with leading national and international theatre professionals.

A high profile week-long festival of the young artists’ work marks the culmination of this year’s Exchange, with a chance to see eight ground-breaking shows at the Byre Theatre this July.
