Youth theatres, their leaders and theatre practitioners form creative partnerships in order to exchange experience and knowledge of creating theatre with, by and for young people that is innovative and international in its outlook.

Following the great success of last year’s inaugural Exchange project, NTS Learn, in partnership with macrobert, have brought together young companies to explore, through a theme of metamorphosis, what it means to be young, Scottish and international.

Participants include: Arts Factory Group, Rothes Halls Youth Theatre, Cumbernauld Youth Theatre, Dundee Rep Youth Theatre, Commotion Youth Theatre, East Ayrshire Youth Theatre (overseen by Visible Fictions), Macrobert Young Company and Balwearie High School Drama Group.

From January 2007 all of the above will be working with NTS creative partners and their own youth theatre directors to devise and create new pieces of theatre. Each Exchange group will have a home performance at a local venue between May-June 2007 before taking their performances to the Exchange Youth Theatre Festival at macrobert in Stirling.
