The National Theatre of Scotland has announced that it has been awarded an LGBT Charter Mark at Silver level.
The award recognises the hard work that has been done by the Company over the last year to make it the best place possible for LGBT service users and staff.
In particular the panel were impressed by the work have done around pronoun use and the introduction of pronoun badges, which have been made available to all staff and visitors.
Another project that was highlighted was the positive impact created by the Coming Back Out Ball project, in particular the strong engagement the LGBTI+ Elders Social Dance Clubs are having on LGBTI+ elders across the country.
Following the award, the Company is pleased to announce that we are partnering up with PinkNews to create a special, one-off LGBTI+ Elders Online Social Dance Club in June as part of the site’s Pride for All celebrations.
Pride for All is a weekend-long digital event, curated by PinkNews, that aims to bring the LGBTI+ community together online and to help every LGBTI+ person feel proud of who they are, wherever they are around the world during these strange times. Pride for All is in aid of the Kaleidescope Trust.
The Pride for All Social Dance Club will be Pride themed, with shared stories from representatives of the rainbow community, lip syncing, lots of dancing, and a soundtrack of Pride anthems.
This special event will take place on Sunday 7 June at 2-3.30pm. Full details about how to joincan be found here.
