Brenna Hobson is leaving her role as Executive Director at the end of June 2024, having been with the Company for seven years, to take up the position of Director of Programming with the Sydney Opera House.

As a member of the Executive leadership team, alongside Artistic Director and CEO Jackie Wylie, she brilliantly guided the Company through the challenging years of lockdown and ongoing uncertainty in the sector.

During her time in Scotland, she has made an outstanding contribution not only to the National Theatre of Scotland but to Scottish and UK arts, including serving on the boards of Stellar Quines, Live Theatre and UK Theatre.

Jackie Wylie said.

“Brenna has been a much trusted and respected colleague and friend. I am grateful to have worked in partnership with her, over the last seven years, based on our shared values of what a National Theatre should be for artists, audiences and communities in Scotland. She has enabled National Theatre of Scotland to demonstrate resilience and success even in the toughest of times. She has shown generous allyship to the Scottish theatre community and further afield. She will be missed, and we wish her all the best for the future”

Senior arts manager and consultant Lucy Mason will be returning to National Theatre of Scotland as Interim Executive Director (from the end of July to the end of December 2024) whilst recruitment is ongoing. She makes a welcome return to the Company following acting as interim Chief Executive in 2016.
