Full details have been confirmed ahead of the upcoming tour of My Left Right Foot: The Musical, Birds of Paradise and National Theatre of Scotland’s award-winning hit show.

The 2019 performances will feature new cast members in an expanded version of the musical, including brand-new songs from Richard Thomas (Jerry Springer: The Opera) and Director Robert Softley Gale.

Katie Barnett joins the cast in the role of Amy, returning to the National Theatre of Scotland following previous roles in Shift and Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour. Shannon Swan, as Gillian, also returns to the National Theatre of Scotland, having previously appeared in the 2016 tour of Glasgow Girls.

Christopher Imbrosciano makes his National Theatre of Scotland debut in the role of Chris. He has previously appeared on stage in both London and New York, as well as in hit TV series The Good Wife. Neil Thomas joins the cast in the role of Grant, following stage roles with Visible Fictions, The Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh, and Dundee Rep Theatre, as well as TV appearances in Lovesick and Outlander. They are joined by returning cast members Richard Conlon, Gail Watson, and Natalie MacDonald, as well as on-stage Musical Director Alex Parker for the tour.

Written and directed by BOP’s Artistic Director Robert Softley-Gale, the show was a smash hit on its debut at the Edinburgh Fringe, winning a Fringe First Award and a Herald Angel as well as a trench of 5-star reviews throughout its sold-out run. The 2019 tour will see the show play Scottish dates in Dunfermline’s Alhambra Theatre and Dundee Rep Theatre, as well as performances at Brighton Festival and a first international engagement at the Shizuoka World Theatre Festival, Japan.
