The final cast members for the upcoming stage adaptation of Jackie Kay’s Red Dust Road have been confirmed today.

Lewis Howden and Declan Spaine are joined by ensemble members Seroca Davis and Simone Cornelius for the upcoming production, produced by National Theatre of Scotland and HOME Manchester. They join a cast that also included Sasha Frost, Elaine C. Smith, Elicia Daly, Stefan Adegbola, and Irene Allan.

Red Dust Road is the first stage adaptation of Jackie Kay’s heartfelt memoir, will be brought to life by a dynamic creative team, including playwright Tanika Gupta, the winner of the 2018 James Tait Black Prize for Drama, and director Dawn Walton, the founder and outgoing Artistic Director of Eclipse Theatre, one of the UK’s foremost black-led theatre companies.

The production will receive its world premiere at the 2019 Edinburgh International Festival on 14 August, before going on to tour to Stirling, Inverness, and HOME Manchester.

Red Dust Road sees the National Theatre of Scotland return to the Edinburgh International Festival , following the successful revival of David Greig and Gordon McIntyre’s Midsummer in 2018, as well as previous productions including Realism, The Bacchae, 365, Caledonia, The James Plays, Dragon, Paul Bright’s Confessions of a Justified Sinner and Anything that Gives Off Light.

The Company is also bringing the latest production by Tim Crouch, Total Immediate Collective Imminent Terrestrial Salvation, to the Festival in 2019.
