News Story
Peter Kelly performs Strawberries, Edwin Morgan’s poem of longing and passion, about eating strawberries and making love. The performance marks 100 years since the birth of Edwin Morgan, former Scots Makar and one of Glasgow’s most-celebrated sons.
Morgan wrote Strawberries when he was 48. He didn’t come out as a gay man until his 70th birthday, twenty two years later.
We are honoured to be part of Edwin Morgan 100, celebrating his life and legacy in this, his centenary year. We are also celebrating all our Rainbow elders who are taking part in The Coming Back Out Ball project.
Strawberries is directed by Coming Back Out Ball’s creative lead, Lewis Hetherington
