News Story
The National Theatre of Scotland is committed to offering support to artists, audiences and the Scottish theatre sector in these challenging times.
Due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, Scottish Government guidelines and our commitment to safeguarding audiences and those we work with, it is with great sadness that our programme of productions, outreach activity, rehearsals, and schools touring will no longer be going ahead as planned. The Company’s offices, rehearsal and production facility, Rockvilla, will also close on Friday 20 March until we receive further guidance.
The projects currently affected are Ferry Tales; The Enemy; The Cheviot, The Stag, and the Black Black Oil;Absolutely, Awesome, Affirmative; the Coming Back Out Ballprogramme; Engine Room, our talent development programme, and Theatre in Schools Scotland.
However, we are looking at rescheduling some of these productions and outreach projects, and will post updates on this as soon as we have further information.
We are also honouring all agreements with artists, freelancers, crew and casual workers for this period.
We want to serve audiences in Scotland by offering the opportunity to experience an alternative theatre programme. We will make an announcement as soon as possible about how we will be doing this and how we will be demonstrating our support to artists and Scottish theatre.
We would like to thank our partners, venues, funders, supporters and audiences for their continued generous support. Our thoughts are with everyone who is struggling at this difficult time
